A MAGICAL PLACE

Bergamo’s beautiful upper town, the Città Alta (pictured above), is a magical place well worth visiting. Use this website to help you plan your trip to Bergamo in Northern Italy and find your way to some of the other lovely towns and villages in Lombardia that are perhaps less well known to tourists.

Historic setting for Hotel Santa Caterina

The small, three star Hotel Santa Caterina is in a good location for walking to either the Città Alta (upper town) or Città Bassa (lower town).

The hotel is in Via Alberico da Rosciate, a small street in the ancient district of Borgo Santa Caterina. It is a short walk from Piazza Carrarra and the famous Accademia Carrarra with its magnificent art collection. From there it is a little further to walk uphill to Porta Sant’Agostino, one of the gates into the Città Alta.

A slightly longer walk downhill would take you to the end of Via Sentierone, which is at the hub of the Città Bassa and a good area for finding restaurants and bars.

Hotel Santa Caterina is smartly furnished in modern style and rooms are painted in bright pastel shades.

A traditional buffet breakfast and wifi internet access are included in the daily room rate.
